Stereoscopes and Stereoview Cards

Listed here you will find stereoscopes and stereoview cards that I currently have available. You can view stereoview cards by subject by selecting from the menu on the left.

Stereoview cards listed here fall into several categories.
Each card description may include the following:
Size, Physical Condition, Picture Type, and 3D Depth.

Card Size: Cards were manufactured in various sizes. Among the most common sizes were 7" x 3.5" (Keystone, Underwood, A.C.Co., etc.) and smaller. Most Keystone and Underwood Stereoscopes will handle slightly narrower cards also.

Physical Condition: Condition may include any of the following - amount of fading, cracks or folds, amount of bend, discoloration, marks, and condition of corners. In most cases the picture of the card will give you the best idea of the condition. I try to scan cards as accurately as I can and photos are not enhanced or changed from my original scan.

Picture Type: Stereoview cards are available in black & white or color, photos and drawings, and in many cases the original photos were colorized by hand (tinted) before the cards were manufactured.
Again, the best description is the picture of the card.

3D Depth: I have never seen anyone rate the "3D Depth" of a stereoview card. I look at each card and rate the card on a scale of 1-5. 1=little or no 3D, 5=Very good 3D effect.
1 = almost two dimensional, very little or no 3D affect when viewed.
3 = Average 3D effect, can see at least 2 or more depths of subject and background.
5 = Multiple depths, several depths viewable in foreground and/or distant background.
